Já li umas duas biografias de Marilyn Monroe e outra mais específica sobre ela e o ex-presidente Kennedy, e sempre que lançam algo novo a seu respeito me interesso. Sim, ela virou um grande mito, mas me interesso pela mulher por trás do mito. Em tudo que já vi e li, sua vulnerabilidade, insegurança e solidão são evidentes.
Marilyn insegura???? Sim, ela ficava horas se arrumando e se preparando para os papéis, estudou mais do que as pessoas imaginam, e mesmo com o mundo ao seus pés ela se sentia super insegura.
Quase 50 anos depois de sua morte, completados em agosto de 2012, uma caixa com escritos de Marilyn Monroe foi achada na casa de sua professora de atuação. Com base nos papeis, poemas, cartas e trechos de biografias, entrevistas com biógrafos e imagens de arquivo, o documentário “Love, Marilyn” foi produzido.
Esse documentário reforça como Marilyn se sentia, mas ali temos a confirmação, já que o mesmo fora gravado baseado em diários e escritos pessoais da atriz.
Marilyn foi a primeira atriz a quebrar o contrato com 20th Century Fox, pois além de pagá-la muito mal – menos que um acompanhante de Liz Taylor – ela era a atriz cujos filmes mais rendiam em bilheteria. Sempre insegura, ela foi para Nova York e voltou a estudar. Mas era bem estranho isso, pois ela já era famosa, aquela Marilyn do vestido esvoaçante, não precisava voltar a estudar, certo? Para ela não! Ela não estudava para se aperfeiçoar, mas porque acreditava que não era boa atriz. Ou pelo menos não boa o suficiente.
No Actors Studio, Lee Strasberg que era seu professor, viu que Marilyn era uma pessoa, e a diva uma outra, porém talvez nem mesmo ela tivesse visto essa dualidade, tendo em vista que sofria demais na tentativa de manter essa persona inventada. Foi então que ela começou a frequentar um terapeuta. O sentimento de não poder ser natural, ser gente, ser humana a estava destruindo. E a insegurança em sua performance como atriz continuava pesando. Provavelmente a combinação da ajuda e suporte do diretor Strasberg e a terapia a ajudaram a recuperar um pouco a confiança, e ela voltou à Hollywood, renovou seu contrato mas agora com uma lista de exigências, dignas de uma grande atriz.
Mas quando ela pensava se sentir mais confiante, seu namorado a usou e a pediu em casamento na televisão, sem nem ao menos falar disso antes com ela. O pedido foi um jeito dele escapar das autoridades que o investigavam e também de se auto-promover. Quando os repórteres bateram a sua porta ela deu uma entrevista em que se pode ver nitidamente o desconforto com a situação.
Mesmo assim ela se casou com ele. Esse casamento foi muito bem retratado no filme “7 dias com Marilyn”, em que é explorada a fase em que o marido descobre quem realmente Marilyn é – insegura, carente – e escreve em seu diário chamando-a de “tonta” entre outras coisas, acabando de novo com aquela recém adquirida confiança em si mesma.
Dali em diante a vida de uma diva estava em queda livre. Ela foi internada num hospício, começou a ir a um novo terapeuta – que era fascinado pelo fato de tê-la como paciente e a tratou de modo pouco profissional, e dada a fascinação, ele fazia de tudo para agradá-la, o que significava dar ainda mais remédios e pílulas para dormir.
Além disso, ela começa a beber ainda mais. Em seu último filme ela aparecia sonolenta, não havia decorado o script, e bêbada.
Sozinha.
O resto todo mundo sabe.
O que queria destacar nesse breve resumo sobre Marilyn, é que todo mundo tem suas inseguranças, seus problemas pessoais, uma vida igual a nossa. Talvez a conta bancária seja diferente, mas de resto somos todos iguais, humanos. Por isso é tão importante falarmos de padrões de beleza, de ainda estarmos em situação de desigualdade de gênero, pois ainda somos vistas como “tontas” se somos bonitas, ou valemos menos se não somos. E o mesmo não acontece no universo masculino, pelo menos não na mesma proporção.
Marilyn foi usada pelos homens em diversas situações, e se deixou usar para conseguir o que queria. Entrar para o “clube hollywood”, para uma mulher, significava favores sexuais.
Hoje ainda ouvimos relatos de pelo menos tentativas mais “ousadas”, por parte de diretores, fotógrafos. Será que o mesmo acontece no mundo masculino? Não sei, mas se acontece deve ser em menor proporção, isso é certeza. Pois ainda existem muitos homens que acreditam ter um certo direito em se aproveitar, ou pelo menos tentar algo mais. E infelizmente o “não” muitas vezes é ignorado, e isso não sou eu falando, mas as estatísticas, que mostram o quanto as mulheres ainda são abusadas de inúmeras formas.
E é por isso que o feminismo não é cafona, ele é necessário, infelizmente, tanto em 1950 quanto em 2016!
E cá entre nós, que tal começarmos a nos cobrar menos? Menos perfeição, beleza, magreza, menos: ser a super mãe, a super cozinheira,a malabarista sexual e ter um super corpo e saber cozinhar como no master chef…

Today we still hear reports of sexual harassment from directors and actor as seen lately in Last Tango in Paris. There are still many men who believe they have a right to take advantage, or at least try something else. And unfortunately the “no” is often overlooked, and this is not me talking, but the statistics, which show how much women are still abused in countless ways.
And that is why feminism is not kitschy, it is unfortunately necessary, both in 1950 and 2016!
